Why Does Your Body Need to Detox January 26, 2008
Posted by Wen in : Detox , 1 comment so farGasoline smells and fumes, road construction smoke that enters your car when your windows are down, second-hand cigarette smoke that comes from a smoking stranger nearby, paint thinner fumes, highlighters, unknown substances that burn while cooking, fast food hamburgers and cheeseburgers, as well as many other foods and random fumes that we are exposed to make a certain impact on our bodies. All of these impacts are usually negative.

On the flip side, though, there are several ways in which one can overcome these negative affects. One sure-fire way to rid yourself and your body of all the unknown substances that enter your lungs and your body is a total body detoxification. If you have never heard what that is before then you may just be in for a surprise. But it turns out, though, that a true body detoxification will really help your whole health in the end and it is a practice that everyone should engage in. (more…)

Tips to Start Eating Healthy for Life September 26, 2007
Posted by Wen in : Healthy Eating , 1 comment so farHealthy eating is important for maintaining bodily functions and living a disease-free life. If you’re conditioned to unhealthy eating habits it can be difficult to change them. However, if you truly want to live the best lifestyle possible, it’s important to follow some tips in order to start eating a more healthy diet.
A good first step to start eating healthier is to rid your home of all foods that are not healthy. Keep junk foods and beverages out of your house so you aren’t tempted to snack during the day. Instead, keep healthy snacks like carrot sticks, yogurt, fresh fruit and whole-wheat crackers on hand.

If you find that you just can’t bear to toss out the sweets, try keeping something small in the pantry, like chocolate chips. Eating a few of these won’t ruin your diet but it will give you that little sugar fix you crave.
Use 5 minutes everyday to help you de-stress August 27, 2007
Posted by Wen in : Stress , 1 comment so farWe all have this favorite expression when it comes to being stressed out, and I wouldn’t bother naming all of them since it may also vary in different languages. But when it comes down to it, I think that it is how we work or even relax, for that matter that triggers stress. Ever been stressed even when you’re well relaxed and bored? I know I have.

Since stress is unavoidable in life, it is important to find ways to decrease and prevent stressful incidents and decrease negative reactions to stress. Here are some of the things that can be done by just remembering it, since life is basically a routine to follow like brushing your teeth or eating breakfast. You can do a few of them in a longer span of time, but as they say– every minute counts.
Managing time
Time management skills can allow you more time with your family and friends and possibly increase your performance and productivity. This will help reduce your stress. (more…)
Treating Acid Reflux In Children July 31, 2007
Posted by Wen in : Acid Reflux , 3commentsAcid reflux in children is so common that many people aren’t aware that it is happening. In many cases, gastro-esophageal reflux happens rapidly, with the acid coming up into the esophagus and then quickly going back down into the stomach. In these cases, no damage to the esophagus occurs.
Acid reflux in children can cause the stomach acid to stay in the esophagus, which damages the esophagus lining. In some cases, acid reflux in children causes the stomach contents to go all the way out into the mouth, which is then swallowed again. When this occurs, the child might develop a chronic cough, raspy voice, or become hoarse.
Other symptoms of acid reflux in children include difficulty in swallowing, wheezing, or recurring pneumonia.
